Every fall for four days Gulf Shores has a grand party ! The National Annual Shrimp Festival brings over 200,000 people to Alabama's coast from all over the globe. Delicious Gulf shrimp are the focus of all the festivities and there is entertainment and fun for all. The
music is back-to-back rocking on two stages.
Fine arts are represented by many local, regional and nationally known artists. The
arts and crafts area is a colorful and fun place to see and buy delightful hand crafted items. Many crafters make things with a coastal theme which make great condo and beach house accessories.
Shrimp are prepared in a zillion delicious ways and plenty of other
seafood is always available as well as traditional
festival fun-food like funnel cakes, ice cream and kettle corn. The
sandcastle/sandsculpting contest has divisions for both children and adults and
Children's Village always has many fun activities especially for the kids. And for adults we always have plenty of cold beer! Better yet, even after all these years there is no admission charge. The Shrimp Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Music starts at 10 a.m. each day of the festival. *
